Overview
Receptor for C-C type chemokines CCL17/TARC and CCL22/MDC. Functions as chemoattractant homing receptor on circulating memory lymphocytes and as coreceptor for some primary HIV-2 isolates. Can also mediate hippocampal-neuron survival.

GPCR, Receptor, Transducer.
Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Expression
Thymus, peripheral blood leukocytes including T-cells, CD4+ cells, basophils and in platelets. Expressed less in spleen and in monocytes. Also found in macrophages, IL-2-activated natural killer cells and skin-homing memory T-cells, mostly the ones expresseding cutaneous lymphocyte antigen. Expressed in brain and microvascular and coronary artery endothelial cells.
