Overview
Receptor for relaxins. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins leading to stimulation of adenylate cyclase and an increase of cAMP. Binding of the ligand may also activate a tyrosine kinase pathway that inhibits the activity of a phosphodiesterase that degrades cAMP (By similarity).
Molecular Function
G-protein coupled receptor activity, metal ion binding; Adenylate cyclase-activating G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway
Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Expression
Detected in brain cortex, and at low levels in testis.
Structure
Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.
Contains 1 LDL-receptor class A domain.
Contains 11 LRR (leucine-rich) repeats.
