About this target
Forms water specific channel. Mercury-sensitive. Plays role in spermatogenesis, fertilization, and in secretion of pancreatic juice and saliva. Contain two tandem repeats each with three membrane-spanning domains and a pore-forming loop with the signature motif Asn-Pro-Ala. Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass protein. Expression: Sperm, pancreas and liver. Less expressed in salivary gland and absoptive colonic epithelial cells.
