About this target
Major downstream component of the canonical Wnt signalling pathway. Also involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and acts as a negative regulator of centrosome cohesion. Two separate complex associated pools found in cytoplasm, majority as compenent of an E-cadheren/catenin adhesion complex. Another cytoplasmic pool is a part of a large complex which holds AXIN1, AXIN2, APC, CSNK1A1 and GSK3B. Subcellular location: Cytoplasm; Nucleus; Cell junction; Cell Membrane. Expression: Expressed in hair follicle cell types including basal and peripheral matrix cells as well as cells of the outer and inner root sheaths. Also expressed in colon and is present in cortical neurons at protein level.
