About this target
Recruits serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1 to dephosphorylate translation initation factor eIF2A/EIF2S1. This reverses shut-off of protein synthesis initiated by stress-inducible kinases and facilitating recovery of cells from stress. belongs to PPP1R15 family. Subcellular location: Endoplasmic Reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side; Mitochondrion outer membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic Side. Expression: induced by methyl methanesulfonate and ionizing irradiation. Apoptosis is induced by interluekin 24 in melanoma cells.
